The only annual event rewarding South Asians in sport will soon be upon us. The British Asian Sports Awards celebrate South Asian sporting talent from the UK and beyond and are now in their seventh successful year. With over 1000 VIPs from the world of sport, business and showbiz attending a glitzy ceremony at the jaw-dropping London Grosvenor Hotel on the 21st February 2009, this is a highly sought after event not to be missed. Past attendees have included world class sports stars including Kapil Dev, Peter Beardsley, Jermaine Defoe, John Fashnu, Amir Khan, Nasser Hussain, Steve Curtis and Sir Trevor Brooking. Millions of Sony Entertainment Television viewers in over 100 countries across the world will be tuning in to see who is crowned the Sports Personality of the Year in our exclusive broadcast of the event. Our viewers and the public at large will be given the opportunity to vote for the award through nominee telephone polling. A series of video clips featuring the nominees will be aired on the channel throughout an eight week promotional campaign encouraging voting from around the world.
